Sasamat Lake Challenge – July 1, 2026
This year will be my first Sasamat Lake Challenge. Pictured here are perhaps some of the challengers that I saw at the beach yesterday. They definitely could out-fly me in from North Van and out-swim me in the lake. Anyone interested in car pooling to the swim? I am planning on swimming the 4K event so need to be there early and likely will swimming for at least 1.5 hours.

Coho Swim – September 13, 2026

Masters Swimming Changes for 2026 /27
In the 2026/7 season, MSABC membership no longer automatically affilliates a team with SwimBC/Swimming Canada. Team Registrars now manage basic team enrollment through a freshly launched, dedicated MSABC registration portal (which is open for the season now for team registration). Individual swimmers will then be cleared to register via their clubs in July and August. The benefit of this is that registration fees will be lower but swimmers who wish to compete in out-of-province meets or SwimBC sanctioned meets must register with SwimBC as well (Swimmers can register for up to 4 SwimBC/Canada/World events for $10.00 each up to 4 times per season). Provincial, Canadian and World records will no longer be recognized by SwimBC or Swimming Canada. DISCLAIMER: This is my interpretation of the situation. Please let me know where I am wrong and where other interpretation is necessary.
If ducks can swim and fly! Why oh why can’t I?
